Greetings! I am the webmistress of An Alternate Universe. Some of you may know me from my Obi/Ami fics at Fanfiction.net under the author name of (yes you've guessed it) anime fan. I suppose you can say I'm an ordinary teenager who gets swamped with homework on a daily basis yet has a large amount of spare time on her hands to work on this site since she has no social life whatsoever. I like to draw, build sites, dream about building successful sites, etc.
After I saw Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, the unconventional pairing of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Queen Amidala (Padme Naberrie) soon became my obsession. Upon returning from the theater, I immediately started my search for stories and sites about Obi/Ami only to find, after two months, merely two short stories and no shipper sites. I continued the exhaustive search for a site dedicated to my favorite pairing only to find many Qui-Gon/Obi-wan sites, a few Anakin/Amidala sites, and even one Qui-Gon/Shmi site! I was devastated, so I started reading online HTML tutorials hoping to understand at least the basics in order to start a decent Obi/Ami archive site. After a while, the HTML knowledge finally clicked and that is how An Alternate Universe came to be...
